My Mothers day card

This is the card I have made for my Mum for Mothers day
It was a double folded front card, I trimmed the left side diagonally.
The middle Butterfly is on a acetate strip so it wafts freely.
The flower is a version of a nestabilities origami flower. Instructions Here, but I altered it slightly & used a scalloped punch. I also chose 2 papers & glues them together rather than using double sided paper. The butterfly's are cut & embossed with cuttlebug die/ folder, the same with the leaves. The stalk is velvet ric rac ribon & the bookplate Sizzix. The mum is a script sizzlits die.

Made a card

Yes, don't all faint, i actually finished a card. As usual, last min, Ste is out tonight at a silver wedding anniversary do & needed a card. Took me ages to decide on the design , Kept changing my mind/ finding things I could use. I may add a peel off/ rub on saying silver anniversary/ wedding anniversary on the front, but don't have one to hand, although its not major if i don't. I have a stamp, but its a large font, so not suitable.
I used DCWV metallic stack for the silver, Layered with Papermania vellum/ brads. The centre square is a cuttlebug die & the 25 is a script sizzlits die.
I ended up buying some silver peel offs & added Happy Silver to the top, & Wedding Anniversary to the bottom, both on the vellum, but between the brads top & bottom. I didn't take another pic as put them on then my son took the card.

My Eldest is 18!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sat was my eldest son ( Ste)'s 18th Birthday. He had a Do!!, & it was a great night out. I don't like the way that webshots does the slide show, it crops the pics funny so they look worse than they are. Its probably better to double click through to see them all. My other 2 lads ( both in black Jackets & shirts) wern't druk, it was just bad pics.

Well I have been awol with the blog for quite a while, but ended up browsing a friends blog ( Hazel) & there is a thing where you go to your computer & blog the 4th picture in the 4th album on your Pc, so decided I might as well join in to :)
It was when i had bought my new camera, so one of the very 1st pics I took with it. It is of Jazmine, my older cat.

Yesterday was my youngests Birthday.I got him a Panasonic Lumix Camera as he loves taking Pics.

Daniel's helicopter trip

Daniel Had a fantastic time. He went from Barton Airfield, Manchester, Flying over Blackburn Rovers football grounds, Liverpool ( Anfield), Burnley (Turf moor) & Accrington Stanley. The weather was gorgeous. many thanks to Flight academy & The local radio station 107 the bee, without either Daniel would not of Won this trip of a Lifetime. many Thanks.
We finished the day off by going out for a meal at Chinese Buffet city.

What a lovely weekend!

What a Lovely weekend we have had. Both in weather, but also being able to get out, shame it wasn't more like this in the summer holidays. On Sat My eldest & youngest went to see Blackburn rovers play, they really enjoyed it. Dan went fishing agin, I even sat next to him for a while before collecting the other 2.
Sunday youngest went to his dad's, The rest of us went to a lovely reservoir, even though we struggled to find it ( we had even bought a days fishing pass for Dan, so not as though we could of gone another day ), Plus we were met by my Dad.

I was very impressed at this drawing that my Dan ( 15) drew, so thought I wold share it.

My Mum.

My Mum is a racing Marshall, but I managed to get a photo of her in a racing car. I didn't take the photo, its on Anglesey circuit, so can't take the credit for it. But have had a play with Adobe Elements 6, changed it to a B/W pic but have put the car & driver & mum in full original colour.

New Car

As some of you may know I had a car accident on 18th July. I stopped at a mini roundabout & the micra behind me didn't. Although my car didn't look to be damaged that much it was a financial write off. The micra was in a real mess, so you can see how hard he hit us :( Yesterday I collected my new car, so have been busy car hunting. Luckily I had a replacement hire vehicle so was still mobile. We are OKish, nothing major, but both myself & Dan suffered from some whiplash injuries.
Anyway, This is our new car :)

Going Digital

Last weekend & for part of the week I had Internet problems ( My Cable Modem broke), so was without my Internet for a few days. I decided to tidy up the PC ( Couldn't really see the desktop for files), Defrag. Etc & came across a basic digital scrapbook programme, so had a Play. I bought Adobe Elements 6 a few weeks ago, so had a Play around in that. Its all a learning curve. But for those who Know me, know I do Love my stash, but sometimes don't get round to actually doing things with it. I will never give up paper, but this is just another avenue of creativity for me. I don'[t need to get photo's printed at the right size, all supplies are in 1 place, & easy to find ( well i hope as i build up my collection I will be able to :lol: ). We had a lovely day out at Goole ( over Hull way) the other weekend. It was a RC Helicopter flying event, so all fancy 3d ( upside down) Flying.

Been On Holiday

OK, another slip in updating this, I really must update more.
But we have been on Holiday to Presthaven. a Haven holiday site in Prestatyn North Wales. We had a lovely time away & really didn't want to come home.

Well Anybody who is a crafter knows who this guy is. its the one & Only Tim Holtz :)
Just got back from a demo by him, so am very tired. I want to craft, but am not to it yet. Met a few other Crafty friends to, & met somebody else from UKS as well. Sadly I didn't see as much as i had hoped, my body was complaining loudly about having to stand up, it was only a small table & people seemed to stay in their place, even though I am tall, I still was struggling to see some of it. it did however pass to quickly & if i could of seen more & able to sit down, would of loved for it to last longer. I did do 2 tags as make & takes as well. one with Alcohol inks, the other with Distress inkpads. I already own most of the colours of the distress ones & Do Love Tim's Style. I also have the alcohol inks, but don't really use them, I must remedy that :). The rest of the photo's are on here.

Notebook

Yesterday I covered & decorated a Notebook. it started out as a cheap shopping list notepad. The back is also covered in the same flower paper as the top & bottom of the front cover.

Football - Sunday 10th Feb

Some of you will know my youngest plays for the local team. They had a match on Sunday. They won again. Brendan wasn't on the pitch for the ful game, but was on the subs, he did play for a while & I took a couple of Pics of him in action :)

Chinese new year

On Saturday we went to a Chinese new year celebration at King Georges hall. ( Shall Add some pics ). It was a busy day as after that we went to Circus workshop as usual.

Loving crafting again

I am now crafting so much more, & Loving it :)
Monday I went round to somebody's & we had a crafty session. I have now finished my Stamped Box. Monday Night was the monthly Stamping Mad meet, we made our own lacquer & stamped & embossed onto acetate, made a lovely daffodil card.
Tuesday I went over to my parents house, so no crafting, but still glad to see my Mum & Dad :)
Wednesday, I went over to somebodys again, started doing some more of my ATC's & made some more blanks. Last night IO sat & cut some more out, I even took scissors, glue stick, nice papers & corner punch to bed with me & made some more nice atc blanks ready to decorate. I have decided I love the Papermania 12 x 12 colossal paper pack. It's the Nostalgia warm set.
Today I have stamped more backs of the Atc blanks & made more blanks. I want to0 make another set of 4 & do some coordinated embellishments before I go out later. I am out at Hyndburn Crafters this afternoon to :)

Ooh, Postie has just been, another 54 rolls of gorgeous ribbon, I am in heaven :)

Snow - Sunday 4th Feb

It started to snow on Sat night, so when we woke on Sunday it was full of the white stuff :). Took a few pics of the lads having fun in the back garden. ( will add them soon).

Been crafting again

On Wednesday I went round to Somebody's for a crafty session. it was so nice to sit & craft together again. I have started doing some stamped & mica painted box's. I haven't finished them yet, so will post a piccy when I have :).
Yesterday it was craft group. We made some Atc's. Again a enjoyable time, why is it time goes so fast when you are having fun :) I have added them to a ATC album on my crafty webshots website ( link on the right). The wings on the Butterfly Atc are 3d & glittered, but have flattened during the scan. There is also glitter on the border of the cat ones, also on the little butterfly corner.

Chinese state Circus

Tonight Myself & my Boy's went to see The Chines state Circus.
We all had a lovely time out, even treated ourselves to white chocolate magnums during the interval & flavoured chips on the way home, So Much for the diet, well Sometime I just don't care & want to enjoy things..
I didn't take my camera as normally thought it wouldn't be allowed with it being in a full theatre. I have had the same problem with proper circus's, so tonight others were taking photo's. I had taken my phone, but unfortunately I don't yet have a large memory card in it ( am due to get one this/next week), so also only had it set on 2 meg quality.

I was Slim Once

I was going through a old photo Album & came across this Photo. Admitedly it was quite a few years ago, but it shows i was slim once :lol:. I have joined a online tracker for foor, so its time to shift the weight again. i did lose 17lbs last year, but put some of it back on, not its time to go for it again.

Rishton Lights

Here is just a very short video clip of the lights where i live. It starts at my house, I don't have as much as some of the others to be honest, but can't put them up the same due to my health.
There is a collection bucket for the local cancer hospice to. I just love the look on the littlies face's when their parents bring them round, they just light up :)

Craftroom tree

I am still around, I know I have neglected this Blog again. Myself & Brendan have decorated the little tree in my Craftroom. We have quite a few things up outside, but still haven't finished those. I hope to post a bit more often again, I have No idea why this is underlined, have tried to alter it, but must of caught something.

Blackpool Art cars

Last Night we went to a Art Car display at Blackpool. we all had a Fab. time & it was so good to get out & have Fun :). The fire display was fantastic to :)

Musical Fireworks Championship

Last night we went to Southport for the Fireworks championship Competition. We had a great time, I Love family times out & about. We started off with a chippy tea & were lucky to be able to sit at a little table all together. Took loads of Photo's to, Plus some video clips.

Motorbikes & Hot Air Balloons

Yesterday we went to the Burnley Hot air balloon festival. We took loads of Photo's, both of the balloons & a motorbike show. The bike ones were taken Mid jump. they were landing on a ramp on a big van, so were high up. they also did a somersault on one of the jumps.

Morecambe Kite Festival.

Today we all had a lovely day out at Morecambe Kite Festival. We nearly didn't go as the weather was awful & very wet when we set off from home. We had a lovely day out.

I thought I would add the photo's I took at our local reservoir. I took them earlier this year. within 1/2 hour the weather changed totally, the contrast in the 2 photo's shows this. I was so pleased with them i sent them to BBC Lancashire website & they are still on there in the photo section. I can't add a link at the moment as they change it as photo's get added, so all the numbers for the photo's change.

Busy ole me

Been busy again what with one thing or another. Took the lads camping along with my youngest's sister. at the weekend, got very wet, but i rested to & we all had a lot of Fun :) Collected a cabin bed for my youngest son yesterday ( well Wednesday , this will show as Friday ). Must finish assembling it tomorrow, Or should that be today now ). Me & Ste collected a powerchair today for me, so I can get on bus's & have more fun with my lads & generally life my life as much as i can to the best of my health. tomorrow i am hoping to collect some long ramps for the car.
I took some photo's this weekend at Camelot Theme park.
I also took some for a photo challenge of come rain or shine. I took some very wet & dark cloudy ones at the weekend, but was lucky to get some good rainbow pics a couple of days ago at home, so have now entered that 1. I must add them onto here to. i also must get round of adding a couple of photo's that I took a while ago
that are on the bbc/lancashire photo section of their website.

The Eggs!!

Double Yolks.

3 eggs =... 3yolks, No!, not in this case... 3 eggs = 6 yolks. a new box of 10 eggs, the I bought yesterday, opened the box & used 3 today & all of them were doubles. I don't think I have ever even had 1 egg with a double before. I wonder if there is any more like that in the box :lol: as you can see the rest of the box looks the same & perfectly normal.

UKS photo comp.

This months competition is above/below. it is for photo's take from above or below, not the usual eye-level pics. I took this lying down on the floor in front of the swing as my middle lad swung high.

Made a card this evening...

I made this this evening. The bottom half is from the DCWV Glitter stack that I bought this evening. I nearly bought it yesterday, but bought a load of other things then, so decided not to. I had to call back into the range this evening for another padlock, so decided I just had to have it. I am so glad I did, it's gorgeous :). The butterfly is a unmounted stamp I bought ages ago. It says the serenity prayer on it. The top pink card I embossed using a Cuttlebug embossing folder ( that came in the post today ). The ribbon is form the little silver hat ribbon kit I buy every month & the greeting trimmed down from a large set I bought from QVC. The card is square, I know it looks slightly squint in the photo it's because I had to just catch the bottom corner under the blind to keep it closed. As well as the Cuttlebug embossing folders ( I got 2, D'vine swirls which I used for the card & a script one ), I also got my melt pot & spare pan delivered today.

Been Spending......

Well It was time for another Spend.... My Mouse wandered over Here.
Last night I ordered myself a Melt-Pot, a spare pan to go inside & couple of Cuttlebug embossing folders. Well the Melt Pot was in the sale & I had some points that needed using up as I had bought my Silhouette from them a while ago. Fancied a Melt-pot for ages, also needed to get the free P & P.
Then this evening after dropping my youngest off at Scout I decided to nip to The Range, well the car was already warm, so was a shame not to go anywhere :lol:
I bought a few items :lol:
namely Several stamp sets, a set of shimmer chalks, a pack of 180 DCWV 12 x 12 papers & a couple of sets of 6 x 6 papers, one was Dovecraft Kids designer set & the other was MM Boho Chic set.
I also made a card this morning, sorry didn't scan it, for my dad as hadn't seen them for a while as they had been on holiday. I also gave my Mum her birthday card. They liked them. I had also bought them a few small presents & bought them a subscription to the National Trust. they were both over the moon with that, hopefully they will be able to make good use of it all year round, especially as they are now both retired & go away so much more now :)

OK Sorry I have been neglecting this Blog a little to much. I have just been busy with one thing or another, Eldest son has now left school is just doing his Gcse exams at the moment. As for what crafty stuff I have been doing, well not a lot really, but have re-tidied the craft room today :lol: I did make a card last week for my next door neighbour who has just had a baby girl. here it is :). I was honoured to be able to use a GSD. file from a lady who had made it on UKS so I used my Silhouette to cut it all out.
Me & my Youngest also went away for the weekend camping again. its the 1st time this year, bought a new tent/awning for the car On Sat. ( although it came into Barron's caravans on Friday afternoon, by the time we had managed to get over the place had been shut for about 5-10 Min's ) Still we manged to have a nice time in local country park, so all was not lost, saw some little ducklings to :) Didn't have my camera for the park, just my mobile so took a few photo's on that. Youngest took a few photo's camping, we were blessed by the weather, it was lovely & hot. Had a very enjoyable time :) I have just been on the local camping site & they have also loaded some of the Photo's we took in a separate folder so Here they are.

It was challange week on CBC last week. I didn't end up doing much was busy with things, but this is a card I made. the challenge was to use the same stamp 3 or more times :)

OK these are Old photos, but all this is still in the lounge, apart from the sets of purple & blue drawers obviously :lol: ( although there is still a blue set of drawers plus other stuff i have accumulated since that photo was taken. Just ignore the last photo's it was just a test type album.

Thought you might like to see my Son on a giraffe unicycle, he has had a standard one for a couple of years & loves it. yesterday while at circus workshops he had the opportunity to go on a giraffe one, he cracked it in less than 5 mins :shock: :).

UKS CyberCrop Sunday

A Mini Perry bottle filled with layers of coloured Gravel ( I saw this a couple of weeks ago, though I will never use That! :lol: ) I had had the gravel for ages. Blooms attached to ribbon from Little Silver Hat monthly Kit.
Chipboard cut with Sizzix painted with purple Acrylic paint. Both with added Glitter Glue. Dragonfly with a bead & wire antenna added. Butterfly with iridescent pink paper wings.

More CyberCrop

Here is a nicer Photo of the Tag book, looks better now assembled with the ribbons, will look even nicer with more pages, in turn even more ribbons. Quote on the front says, it may not be easy, but it will always be worth it.
Also here is a photo of a box cut with the Silhouette using a downloaded QK design. I have decorated it with Flowers from Little silver hat ribbon kit ( same kit as the ribbons above ),a flower brad, Also Punched flowers ( woodware punch ) layered with a bead in the centre, but a pink diamante heart in the central 2.

My 1st completed LO

Another UKS challenge from the CyberCrop. Cheshire cat, to use a photo with a grin on it. I am happy with it, its my 1st ever completed LO :). I have a DLO nearly done, but just needs a title & maybe some journaling, but this is my 1st Finished scrapbook page.:)

UKS Cyber Crop

Its the CyberCrop on UKS. I hadn't realised about it until a few days ago, but am giving it a go. it started last night, but didn't do any then. This morning have been awake since about 5.30am I have already made my 1st item. a Bookmark.
I have now made another item. it will be a tag book, just need to add some nice ribons/fibres to the top & join it all together. upload time for this was noon, i was close, but did it, would like to make some more pages to.

Inchies

Tonight have had a pay making Inchies. I have never made any before, they really are tiny, but had fun. I am fairly pleased with my results, they took longer to than I realised, but then again its so easy to lose track of time when crafting. I started with Steven & Brendan to. Brendan made a one, he is only 10, but enjoyed it to. His is the seperate pink one on its own. Steven made an ATC, a inch was to small for him ( he is registered partially sighted ), he had some good ideas to. I can't just see his or I would of taken a photo of that to. My Stamped ones i used the See-D morsels stamps, apart from the lace edged stamp which was a wood mounted one. The stitched edge stamp was a Stamps away one. All the card corners were cut using a sizzlits die.

More Crafts room sorting

I sorted out my desk today. We put it in the Craft room a couple of weeks ago & put the PC On it. I re-organised the PC & Set Up the QK Silhouette Computerized Crafts Cutter. I added a set of small, but deep, 3 drawers to the side of the desk so I can put the PC tower on that next to the desk so I have space for the other stuff. I sat & sorted my Gel pens, pencils etc out & have placed them into a set of 4 little buckets so they are easy to get to. I have got some more box's of craft stuff in the corner next to the sets of shelves along the wall. I still haven't finished it. Need to put another drawer set next to the other silver ones under the window, but at least its getting there.:)

Wet Day :)

Had a wet day here, well I was lovely & dry, the sun was shining, but my Eldest was very very wet ;lol:
This months Photo comp. on UKS is moving water, so he volunteered, we had great fun & I took loads of Photo's. He did get a nice warm bath after as the water outside was all cold :brr:

Manchester Science & Industry Museum

Yesterday Me & Ste went into Manchester. We caught the bus over there, was a good journey, it made a nice change from the trams to. I am new to using bus's as car is at the garage, so am now car less for the time being, I miss it :(. We had a great time, even though Ste did nearly tip me out of the wheelchair about 3 times, I later made a fool of myself as ended up falling off my little scooter in the middle of a busy part of Manchester :oops:, I was fine though, Ste thought it was hilarious.

I am back at long last. I had not been able to log back in. I did start a MY space, but I hated it. I am so glad to be home again :)

Sunday - Crop day

Had a fab day out on Sunday. I went to Chorley Crop with some other girls from UKS. Met some lovely people. I did my 1st LO, its a douple paged one, its not quite finished, needs a title & a few other bits, but i like it. Chuffed as I wanted to get a page done, before I had just popped some photo's in with some co-ordinating papers. I have made danny's birthday card ready for 3rd march, its a decouplages one with quite a few layers of a fish. I must take some pics of them both.
